Use

I don’t regularly spend time on the entryway balcony, but I frequently admire it and its view and also open its door to let in a reliable breeze from the hills. That fresh air courses our apartment, and I love the way it smells. It makes me thankful.

My nature is to get rid of anything that I don’t use often, and I tend to equate physically touching or manipulating something with what it means to use something.

The entryway balcony is teaching me that an area can be useful and enjoyable even if I don’t actually spend time in it as long as it has a purpose I appreciate.
