Doormats
Using the same style of doormat inside and outside the front door gives a sense of cohesion to the entryway and expands the area. It’s also something I do to give a little preview of what’s to come when people are standing outside waiting for the door to open.
To get a custom-looking fit around the door, I cut the mats to match the door’s angles and also slide the mats under the threshold—sometimes that requires unscrewing the saddle and then tightening it back up once the mats are under it.
